White Rabbit Red Rabbit is a new avant garde show by the Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour. No-one is allowed to talk about it, and Google-ing the play is frowned upon, which is why the content is not known. In addition to that, there’s a new actor every performance that has never seen the play either. This global sensation is a new mix of social experiment and theater performance.

To Kill A Mockingbird, the novel written by Harper Lee, is coming to Broadway, as an adaptation by Aaron Sorkin. The story of To Kill A Mockingbird follows Atticus Finch, a lawyer in a small town in 1930’s Alabama, whose kids Scout and Jem are hugely affected by Atticus’ decision to defend a black man accused of rape.

 

 

Frozen, the Academy Award winning film from Disney is coming to Broadway in the spring of 2018. The hit musical tells the story of Anna and Elsa, two sisters and princesses. Once Elsa’s magical powers are unleashed, their life will never be the same. Frozen on Broadway will feature songs known from the popular film as well as new songs never heard before.

Heisenberg, written by Tony-winner Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) is coming to Broadway after a successful run Off-Broadway this past summer. Starring Mary-Louise Parker and Denis Arndt, this show tells the touching story of a woman who kisses an older man on the neck in a busy train station in London. Although they are strangers, life will be forever altered by this encounter.

Oscar Winner Cate Blanchett makes her Broadway debut in The Present, an adaptation written by Andrew Upton and based of Chekhov’s Platonov. Blanchett plays the widow Anna Petrovna who stands at the middle of an intriguing web of relationships gone awry, unanswered love and built up regret, even though on the surface it may appear differently

Vincent is the story of Vincent van Gogh and his correspondence of over 500 letters with his brother Theo van Gogh. Written and dramatized by Leonard Nimoy, this production stars James Briggs as both of the van Gogh brothers.

The Robber Bridegroom is a hilarious, charming and sexy musical set in the South with a Robin Hood-twist to it. This revival marks the 40th anniversary of the musical after it premiered on Broadway in 1975 with Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone. This production features stage and movie actor Steven Pasquale as Jamie Lockhart, the charming bandit who will steal much more than just your heart.

Sense and Sensibility is a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel and has been called the “greatest stage adaptation of this novel in history”. The story follows the sisters Dashwood – Elinor and Marianne – after they lose their whole fortune. Sense and Sensibility is an ingenious story about the power of reputation, social standings and following your heart.

The classic Tony-winning musical Cats, with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by T.S. Eliot, Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe, will return to Broadway in the summer of 2016. The hit musical tells the story of the Jellicle cats and their quest to ascend to “the Heaviside Layer”.

Bette Midler is back as Dolly! Hello, Dolly! tells the story of a charming widowed matchmaker who tries to marry the famous “half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder. The widely celebrated musical, which has won ten Tonys, will have its fourth Broadway revival.

The Father, which stars three-time Tony winner Frank Langella, offers us a view of a man who may or may not be many things. His name is Andre and at 80 years old and living with his daughter Anne, who he was and what he is are both very much in question.

Al Pacino returns to Broadway for a limited run in David Mamet’s new play entitled China Doll. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, China Doll is about a billionaire named Mickey Ross, played by Pacino; his assistant; and a phone from which the ultra-rich aging tycoon takes one last call before dashing off to marry a young woman and enter into semiretirement.

Bruce Willis, who is best known for his work in the Die Hard action-movie series, stars in William Goldman’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel Misery. Misery, which was originally adapted by Goldman as a film, starring Kathy Bates and James Cahn, is the frightening, dark, and intense story of novelist Paul Sheldon and his biggest fan, Annie Wilkes.

The revival of the musical The Color Purple stars Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson as Shug Avery and, making her Broadway debut, Cynthia Erivo, who starred in the London production of the show, as Celie. The Color Purple is an uplifting musical that chronicles how one woman struggled through a childhood of poverty, abuse, and prejudice, to rise above everything and triumph.

Hilarious and madcap, a spy story of the ultimate degree, The 39 Steps comes back to New York with Broadway cast member Arnie Burton once again playing Clown #2. This comedy, which is based on the book by John Buchnan as it pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film of the same title, is directed by Maria Aitken. The ingenious show features four actors playing over 150 roles, and doing so with speedy transformational changes and simple props.The 39 Steps is classic Hitchcock, featuring an unsuspecting victim who get caught up in the intrigue and a beautiful woman anyone would die for.

Clinton: The Musical is a full-length comedy focusing on the eight-year presidency of Bill Clinton, which spent a lot of time handling scandals, rumors, and controversy. Bill and Hillary face issues, struggles, and hot topics related to everything from The White House to Whitewater, sax technique to sexual taboos, medical reform to moral reformers, and FOB wannabes to Clinton degraders and defamers. An Act of God, which is a stage adaptation based on the book of the same name by David Javerbaum, is an outrageous comedy that reveals the mysteries of the Bible and the strange ways in which God works. A recklessly funny series of gags about all things religious and quite a few things secular too,” and the Washington Post said An Act of God was “like The Bible, if The Bible were narrated by Mel Brooks on crack-laced manna.”

Allegiance, a new musical about a controversial act in America that ripped Japanese-American families from their homes, stars Star Trek’s George Takei. The musical, with book by Marc Acito and music and lyrics by Jay Kuo, offers audiences an insightful and dramatic emotional journey focusing on loyalty, family, and patriotism.

Winner of the Tony in 1988 for Best Score and Best Book, Into the Woods is back in New York and being given an outstanding, innovative production by The Roundabout Theatre. Reimagined by Fiasco Theater and directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, this Off-Broadway production has won plaudits from every major reviewer and media outlet. This is a limited engagement, and this production of Into the Woods will close on April 12, 2015.

Masterworks Theater Company brings Tennessee Williams to the stage with their production of The Glass Menagerie. The Glass Menagerie is the story of Tom Wingfield, his family, conflicts, and dreams. Fiddler on the Roof is on Broadway again, celebrating its 50th anniversary. Veteran Broadway performer and perennial Tony nominee Danny Burstein will play Tevye. Fiddler on the Roof, which includes music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, is based on Tevye and his Daughters by Sholem Aleichem. The original 1964 production was nominated for 10 Tonys and won 9. It was the first Broadway musical to run for more than 3,000 performances.

Starring Tony Award winner Chita Rivera, The Visit, the new Kander and Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago) musical, is based on the modern classic of the same name by Swiss playwright Friedrich Dürrenmatt. The Visit, which is a dark comedy, includes a book by Terrence McNally (It’s Only a Play, Master Class).

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock—The Musical is based on the 2003 movie of the same name that starred Jack Black. With music and lyrics by Webber and Glenn Slater and book by Julian Fellowes, the musical the latest Broadway bound musical by Webber whose The Phantom of the Opera continues its unprecedented run on Broadway.

The musical Gigi, a re-imaged version of the original 1973 Tony Award winning musical, is the story of a teenage girl living in Paris as the 19th century turns towards the 20th. Terrence McNally’s comedy It’s Only A Play comes to life on the Broadway stage with an amazing group of actors. Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane headline an all-star cast that includes F. Murray Abraham, Stockard Channing, Megan Mullally and Micah Stock. McNally has created a winning Broadway comedy about the comedy of Broadway. This is a wonderful comedy by a four-time Tony winner and directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O’Brien.

Keira Knightley stars in a new adaptation of Emile Zola’s groundbreaking 19th century novel Thérèse Raquin. The well-known film star, who has been seen in classically based films such as Pride and Prejudice and widely popular movies, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, makes her Broadway debut. Knightley has been an Oscar, Olivier, and Golden Globe nominee.

In the musical It Shoulda Been You, with music by Barbra Anselmi and a book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove, it looks as if the perfect wedding is about to take place until the bride’s former boyfriend shows up. Then love, life, and wedding begin to rip apart, ever so slowly and comically, at the seams.
