Bandstand is the story of musician and upstart bandleader Donny Novitski. The World War II vet is on a mission- to lead his band of fellow veterans into competition for America’s next swing band sensation. But his mission is complicated by relationships, the demands of the competition, and the terrible memories of war that affect his fellow musicians. Things heat up when when Donny meets a beautiful, young singer named Julia; at that time, he discovers the perfect harmony in words and music that could take this sizzling band to the pinnacle- to the live radio broadcast finale in New York City. But if they do get, it will be by using every ounce of talent, stamina and raw nerve that these musicians possess.
