Set in the Hollywood of the 1980s, when the rock bands featured bad boys, stinging guitar riffs and hammering drums, Rock of Ages is a fast-paced, drug-laced, sex-maze of frivolity set to the hits of the time. It’s true that there is a story, but it’s fairly light, which helps to emphasize, as does the fact that drinks are served at your seat during the show, that this is about a time when designer drugs and groups of groupies were the hallmarks of a rock band’s success.

The Strip in Hollywood was a place where rock legends were made and where those same rock legends made it every night. That’s the setting for this club-based musical that offers mature situations, immature humor and hits from bands such as Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and many others.SYNOPSIS
Rocker Stacee Jaxx is a hard act to follow but one guy in the place, Drew the janitor, thinks that he has a shot at surpassing the achievements of the club’s top star. He also has dreams of making it with Sherri, a girl from somewhere in Kansas who’s as small town as a girl can get.Although the Sunset Strip is a happening place for the designer drugged bands, foreign developers don’t seem to care one bit as the groups and groupies soon discover that the Strip is to be turned into a mall. They decide to fight the developers and come armed with lots of 80’s hits, massive amounts of energy and a whole for of id-driven desires. The big question is can dreamers like Drew, Sherri and others stop what many seem to think is progress? Rock of Ages rocks on as it answers that question. -
