This is not about black ties, but how many times there has been a tie in the Tony competition voting. One hint, it has happened. So, how many times total in Tony history has there been a tie?

The Tonys, which were first awarded in 1947, have had a total of 10 ties in 67 years. That’s quite a few. In comparison, the Oscars have had only 6 ties in 87 years. And one was not an actual tie, as in 1932 Frederick March had one more vote than Wallace Berry for Best Actor, but the rules then stated that if another person was within three votes, they would share the award.
