Hilarious and madcap, a spy story of the ultimate degree, The 39 Steps comes back to New York with Broadway cast member Arnie Burton once again playing Clown #2. This comedy, which is based on the book by John Buchnan as it pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film of the same title, is directed by Maria Aitken. The ingenious show features four actors playing over 150 roles, and doing so with speedy transformational changes and simple props.The 39 Steps is classic Hitchcock, featuring an unsuspecting victim who get caught up in the intrigue and a beautiful woman anyone would die for.

    In The 39 Steps, Richard Hannay resolves to race cross-country in an attempt to solve a crime that is hauntingly mysterious. With four adroit actors moving at a pace that would tax the healthiest of athletes, the comedy-mystery offers audiences tense and powerful chases, amazingly silly and amusing detours, and a wealth of narrow escapes all of which stretch across the English countryside.
