Mark St. Germain’s Freud’s Last Session is a witty and astute tale in which the Father of Modern Psychiatry, Sigmund Freud, and a very young C.S. Lewis, meet and debate sex, God, love and the meaning of life. This play, which is the Off-Broadway hit of the season, is wondrously produced and a must-see for theatergoers.
Synopsis
As Great Britain enters World War II, Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis meet in the psychiatrist’s study. Lewis, then a young author, has been summoned by the great thinker and modern innovator. Lewis thinks Freud is about to skewer him for his recent satire of the psychiatrist. But to the contrary, this meeting ends up being a humorous, poignant debate about what life is and what life is not. Riveting, insightful and enormously entertaining, Freud’s Last Session is a play that you don’t want to miss.
