Based on the true story of Violet and Daisy Hilton, conjoined twins who are able to find fame but not love, Side Show provides us with a glimpse of two individuals who were simultaneously one. Their story attracted massive media attention. Their tale fascinated the public, and like our electronic media of today, the newspapers, magazines, and radio outlets of the time used the story of Violet and Daisy to make large amounts of cash. Side Show is about how we often forget that those in the limelight are not fictitious images, but, rather, beings who are in need of human understanding. (Group Rates $45-$95)
Jez Butterworth’s play, The River, which stars Hugh Jackman, is about human interaction, passion and loss, and our attempts to recapture that “something” that defines our ability to have hope and chase dreams. All of these themes are contained in a play that is set in a lone cabin in the woods that is the haunt of one man and visited by two women who are as different as night and day. (No Group Rates, prices $175-$275)
When J.M. Barrie wrote Peter Pan he was desperate for a new hit play. By chance, the apparently written-out and worn-down writer found his inspiration when he discovered a real-life mother and her children in a park. The mother was widow Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, and Barrie’s connection with the children eventually led to the authors creating his biggest hit. Finding Neverland is as much about our need to connect on a human level as it is about artistic drive, inspiration, and the wonderment of youth. (Group Rates Not Set Yet)
