Pippin is back on Broadway for its first major revival ever. The Stephen Schwartz musical focuses on King Charlemagne’s son Pippin and his quest to find his “corner of the sky.” Part history, part existential quest and part musical comedy, Pippin offers theatregoers razzmatazz, social commentary and a winning score. See Pippin and find out what’s it like to be a relatively normal, everyday Medieval royal family.

Pippin, which opened on Broadway in 1972 and won five Tonys including 2 for director/choreographer Bob Fosse, is a highly theatrical tale of a young man, Pippin (King Charlemagne’s son), who must choose between being ordinary and extraordinary. The character of Pippin, who is influenced by the show’s enigmatic Leading Player, takes on a quest to discover what makes him extraordinary. This is a musical devoted to the youthful pursuit of the convoluted mix of everything life has to offer, including sex, violence, family and love. The clever and extremely funny book by Roger O. Hirson offers a stunning contrast to the deeper issues and messages in this musical. The Broadway revival will reimagine Pippin in a new and innovative manner.SYNOPSIS
