Rocky, The Musical

The new musical Rocky, which is based on the Sylvester Stallone Oscar winning movie, tells the poignant story of a boxer who is all but washed up and his opportunity to finally get his one chance at the big fight. Rocky, The Musical, offers an original score, with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens (Tony winners Ragtime) and a book by Thomas Meehan (Tony winner Annie, The Producers and Hairspray). Rocky, The Musical, which features a gritty, realistic boxing finale between Rocky and Apollo Creed, premiered in Hamburg, Germany to acclaim.

  • SYNOPSIS

    In the new musical Rocky, Rocky Balboa, a never-was prize fighter in Philadelphia, gets the chance of a lifetime- he’s been chosen to fight the champion, Apollo Creed. Although Rocky becomes part of a media circus, he’s determined to not be clown and to finally prove that he is somebody. Along the way, he falls in love, earns the respect of his hardnosed trainer and discovers his untapped potential. Rocky, The Musical will have underdog fans cheering, fight fans and high drama enthusiasts on the edges of their seats and romantics enthralled by a prize-winning story and real-as-life characters.
