With Roald Dahl’s beautiful book as its basis, Matilda The Musical takes audiences on an inspirational journey that is poignant, magical and inspiring. Matilda is a young girl with unique gifts. She taught herself to read at the age of three by reading every cookbook and magazine in her home. But her family sees her as being an unimportant nuisance, and when she requests that her father buy her a real book to read, he turns her down. But the young girl is undaunted and she finds her way to the library, reads all of the kid’s works quickly and then begins consuming books from the adult section. Unable to suppress Matilda’s independence, her father eventually sends her away to school where the headmistress treats her with cruelty. One instructor, Miss Honey, befriends the Matilda. In the meantime, it’s discovered that Matilda possesses telekinetic abilities. Through a series of adventures and with the help of Miss Honey, Matilda escapes from those who have treated her terribly and discovers a new life where she finds happiness.SYNOPSIS
