The world premiere of Jonathan Marc Sherman’s Clive will be directed by and star Ethan Hawke. Clive, which is inspired the Bertolt Brecht’s powerful play Baal, is a tale of excess as the title character focuses on delineating the life of a songwriter who lives a dissolute life in 1990s New York City.
Synopsis
Clive is the journey of a man hell-bent on his own destruction. Fascinating, deplorable and enlightening, Clive offers us a dark and simultaneously celebratory vision of a life focused on experiencing pleasure. What are the hedonistic extremes that one person will embrace and how far will one go to experience pleasure? Clive offers an eclectic selection of classic American songs performed live.
