In the play Choir Boy, Pharus longs to take what he feels is his rightful position as The Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys gospel choir leader. Will he be given the chance? He may not. It will be a major uphill battle for the young man who doesn’t seem to fit the mold.
Synopsis
The Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys is devoted to the development of strong, ethical, morally upright black men. Pharus Jonathan Young pursues his dream of becoming the leader of the school’s prestigious choir. But Pharus doesn’t conform to the school’s vision of a choir leader. Can this young man fulfill his dream of becoming a part of the hallowed halls of this institution?
