Airline Highway, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Lisa D’Amour, offers audiences a glimpse of a motley collection of friends and acquaintances who have gathered for the funeral of an iconic burlesque performer. The burlesque performer, Miss Ruby, is at the gathering and alive.

  • SYNOPSIS

    In Airline Highway, Miss Ruby, a legendary stripper who lit up the glitzy runways of burlesque houses, has requested that her funeral be held before she dies. As the celebration begins in the parking lot of The Hummingbird, a once-glamorous motel on New Orleans’ infamous Airline Highway, a diverse collection of friends gather to celebrate the life of Miss Ruby. Included are strippers, grifters, and philosophers, all of whom are dedicated to throwing and enjoying on big send-off party.
