  • SYNOPSIS

Act One is a true and endearing tale, focusing on Moss Hart and his first major theatrical success, Once in a Lifetime, which he wrote with George S. Kaufman. As a young boy, Hart grew up in terrible poverty, determined to rise above it through a career in the theatre. The writer and director did just that, becoming one of the most successful theatre artists of the 20th century and creating some of the richest and most endearing comedies of his time, including You Can’t Take It With You, The Man Who Came to Dinner, and George Washington Slept Here.
