It is a riveting, high-energy musical that goes into the darkest regions of teenage existence. This initial Broadway revival of Spring Awakening is simultaneously performed in English and American Sign Language.

  • SYNOPSIS

    The Broadway musical Spring Awakening tells the story of Melchior, a brilliant young student, Moritz, his deeply troubled and confused troubled friend, and Wendla, a beautiful, young girl who is on the verge of becoming a woman. The musical offers a stark contrast between the world of these teens and the adults who attempt to control and define them. The Broadway revival features choreography by Hedwig’s Spencer Liff. Spring Awakening opened on Broadway on December 10, 2006 and garnered Tonys for Best Score, Best Book, and Best Musical. The original Broadway show ran for 859 performances and closed on January 18, 2009.
