THIS SHOW IS CLOSED

An Early History of Fire, which is written by David Rabe, is a drama about young man named Billy who discovers a new life beyond what he knows and has lived in his medium-sized Midwestern town. Billy has family responsibilities that are limiting his ability to grow. In An Early History of Fire, the young man learns what it takes to break free of those who are stifling his life.

Synopsis

Playwright David Rabe, whose works include Hurlyburly and Streamers, has created a hard-hitting play set in a medium-sized Midwestern town in the early 1960s. Danny, who is in his twenties and living in the home in which he grew up with his German immigrant father, Pop, discovers a whole new life when he connects with a female college student named Karen. In time, she reveals to him that there is a whole new world beyond the one in which he grew up and still lives.
