In the first half of the 20th century, Robert Ripley, who was a cartoonist, adventurer and collector, sought out the strange and unusual in foreign and exotic lands. He turned his passion for discovering oddities into a highly lucrative career. Ripley’s Believe It or Not, New York includes the Odditorium, where you’ll see, amongst other things, a six-legged cow, a lock of Elvis’ hair, 24 shrunken heads, a section of the Berlin wall, and a life-size albino giraffe. There are 20 galleries on two floors featuring videos and photos, archives and interactive exhibits. The venue also offers some of the strangest performances you’ll ever see in its Sideshow Wonders.
