Synopsis
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof delves deeply into the passions stirred by a loveless marriage, the loneliness of the heart and the power of old money in the Deep South. Maggie desperately desires the affections of her husband Brick, while Brick, a former football hero who has turned to the solace of the bottle, seems to desire nothing. Overseeing this relationship and all family business is Brick’s overbearing, aging and terminally ill father Big Daddy. Set in the genteel South, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof slowly reveals the dark truths that guide these individuals on their respective paths as it erupts with stinging, suppressed emotions.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof stars Tony Award-winner Scarlett Johansson who returns to Broadway to star as Maggie and includes Ciarán Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick and Tony and Emmy Award-winner Debra Monk as Big Mama. This limited run of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning classic is directed by Tony and Emmy Award-winner Rob Ashford.
