The highly successful screenwriter and film director Andrew Bergman wrote the book for Honeymoon in Vegas. As a director and writer he has created The Freshman (1990) starring Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick and It Could Happen To You (1994) starring Nicolas Cage and Bridget Fonda. He also wrote and directed the 1992 film version of Honeymoon in Vegas, which starred Nicolas Cage, James Caan and Sarah Jessica Parker.
